As volume grows, there will be a less than proportional increase in incremental resource requirements for the following reasons:
- Automation reduces the number of manual tasks required
- Workflow and daily matching leads to fresher trade data, which will collectively reduce the number of man-hours per task
As a result, effective incremental cost per trade falls. The savings on incremental resource requirement grow with volume, as shown by the light blue curve in the graph on the previous page.
